Thursday, 29th June 2006 (3658 views) Olympic rower James Cracknell has told of the moment he realised that his precious gold medals had been stolen from his London home.In a statement to Isleworth crown court, Cracknell told of his arrival home in Chiswick, in the west of the capital, to discover he had been burgled. He had won the two gold medals at the Athens and Sydney Olympics for his triumphs rowing as part of Britain's coxless fours team. Describing their loss, he said: "I don't know what value they have but they are extremely valuable to me personally." Other items stolen included laptops, watches and a diamond wedding ring. Mark Murphy, a 30-year-old man from Hammersmith in west London, denies burgling the rower's property in March of this year.
