Guyana Goldfields announces Aurora results

Thursday, 20th July 2006 (2478 views)

Extensive work on fourteen drill holes on the Aurora Property in Guyana revealed extensive gold mineralisation, Guyana Goldfields has reported.

The holes were located across four different areas. Two were constructed at Rory's Knoll and generated results of up to 10.25 grams per tonne of gold.

One drill at the East Walcott discovery area yielded a result of 53 metres at 4.24 grams per tonne of gold, indicating that the zone could be part of a felsic intrusive mineralisation formation.

Six holes at the Marupa area confirmed a strike length of 550 metres with promising gradings including the discovery of 2.9 metres at 7.06 grams per tonne of gold and 3.5 metres at 4.23 grams per tonne of gold.

The final site, Aleck Hill, presented good drill results including 5.1 metres at 16.08 grams per tonne of gold and 13.5 metres at 5.2 grams per tonne of gold.

A Canada-based company, Guyana Goldfields is active in exploration of the Guiana Shield, which runs across several South American countries including Brazil and Venezuela.
