Monarch says mining results are 'very encouraging'

Thursday, 20th July 2006 (2498 views)

Gold mining company Monarch has announced what it has called "excellent" drilling results at its Davyhurst gold project in Western Australia.

Results from two key deposits, one an extension of an original discovery and another which is an additional location next to the Lady Bountiful deposit, have been published.

The new discovery features results of up to 132.3 grams per tonne of gold over four metres of the 55 metre-long stretch.

Further results from the extended area that has undergone exploratory drilling include up to 452.7 grams per tonne of gold over a metre-long intersection.

"The position of the new intersection in relation to this historical result is very encouraging," said Monarch's technical director John Davis, "although additional drilling will be needed to determine the extent of this high-grade zone, which remains open."

Mr Davis added that the company was in the process of planning a follow-up drilling programme to consolidate its findings.
