Cluff Gold's Angovia gold project in the Ivory Coast has shown a great degree of promise during the continuing reverse-circulation (RC) drilling programme there.

According to Cluff, the existence of a new ore body has been corroborated at the AN2 prospect and it is a strong possibility that the company's evaluation of the resource's size will be upgraded when the latest drilling data is incorporated.

As many as 62 holes have now been drilled on the project, at a total depth of 4,800 metres and the two best showings have been an intersect of 6.23 grams of gold per tonne over 19 metres and 3.39 grams per tonne over 20 metres.

Douglas Chikohora, technical director at Cluff, commented: "We continue to be very pleased with the developments at Angovia, with these drill results confirming the presence of a fourth satellite ore-body on the project.

"The grades intersected at prospect AN2 have surpassed our expectations and we expect to significantly add to the resource for Angovia. We look forward to updating the resource estimate on completion of the RC drill programme."

The present programme aims to define oxide resources just below the surface at the four resources that have been tested so far, which is believed to be around 70 metres deep.

Following this, the underlying sulphides underneath will also be investigated and it is estimated that mineralisation remains open both along the strike and downwards of the four deposits discovered so far.
