Cusac Gold has reported that underground mining has begun at its site in Canada.

Surface preparations have been completed at the Table Mountain Gold mine, which is situated in northern British Columbia. The company is expecting money to start coming in from production In the fourth quarter of 2006, after reporting that all equipment, staff and supplies are on-site ready to start mining.

Mill and assay lab refurbishment are also on course to be finished by the end of this year.

Underground trenching work has also started at the Taurus II gold target, which is close to the main Table Mountain site. A great deal of sampling work has been carried out there after various gold anomalies were found and a number of suitable targets have been identified for diamond drilling.

Ariel survey work has identified the Taurus II area as having the most potential with regards to production. Vice President of exploration Lesley Hunt said: "We are very excited about the evolving exploration targets at Taurus II and potential for positive results in the upcoming diamond drilling program."

The company's chief executive officer David Brett is similarly enthusiastic: "It's been a very busy summer for the Cusac team at Table Mountain and I am pleased that we are making such great strides on the mining and exploration fronts," he commented.

"We are looking at an even busier fall as we ramp up our drill program at Taurus II and start to hit ore on the Rory Vein."
