Ariana Resources has announced it has begun its scheduled drilling programme at the Kiziltepe prospect in Turkey.

The 100 per cent-owned property is part of the Sindirgi gold project in the western part of the Europe-Middle East border country and the company hopes to uncover gold and silver metal deposits.

Five principle veins are due to be tested in this latest round of exploration at Kiziltepe. Ariana has said it hopes to complete a total of 37 drill holes to depths of up to 150 metres in order to establish the project's feasibility.

The initial results from the latest round of drill holes are expected to be announced later this year, possibly in November, Ariana told the AIM exchange in London, where the company's stocks are officially listed.

Ariana is a gold-focused mining and exploration company with a particular interest in the mining prospects of the Carpathian and Tethyan metallogenic belts of Turkey.
