An update on the progress being made at the Ixhuatan project has been provided by the owners of the property, Linear Gold.

The company says it has taken "significant" steps towards advancing the Campamento gold deposit in the area while at the same time managing to expand the potential area of exploration.

A prospective area covering 98,000 hectares at Ixhuatan is likely to demonstrate the project's potential and drill results of up to 1.8 grams per tonne of gold and 7.8 grams per tonne of silver have already been identified.

Exploration at Campamento has also revealed that a total mineable ore of over one million ounces of gold and 4.4 million ounces of silver is also present.

The company intends to continue its exploration in the area and has apportioned funds totalling over C$12 million to pay for further investigation and drilling. The property remains one of Linear's main metallurgical targets for gold and silver.
