West Timmins extends mineralised zones

Tuesday, 26th September 2006 (2385 views)

West Timmins Resources has announced that results from a recently completed mapping and soil sampling programme have extended the mineralised zone at its site.

The Montana de Oro project is located on the Sierra Madre gold belt in the state of Sonora, Mexico.

These latest results from the site extended the potential of the El Rodeo gold zone along strike for 1,300 metres. The gold-silver-base metal mineralisation is open in both directions along strike.

As a result of these findings, West Timmins has announced that a drilling programme covering at least 3,000 metres will start in the next two weeks. This project will explore soil anomalies and surface discoveries at the El Rodeo zone, in addition to two other targets held within the same area.

West Timmins president Darin Wagner commented: "We are very encouraged by these results which indicate the presence of an extensive gold mineralised system in the El Rodeo area.

"Work on the 99 square kilometre Montana de Oro project continues to demonstrate positive results from multiple zones and we are excited to announce our first drilling programme under the new West Timmins Mining banner."
