Carat Exploration, a natural resource company, is about to begin its next diamond drilling programme after targets were delineated during the summer.

The firm owns the entire Seneca property in Canada where it will now begin aggressive exploration. It overlies the Seneca deposit which is historically important because it contains middle Jurassic-aged volcanic rock.

Surface exploration and airborne geophysical screening has been completed in preparation and the firm hopes to explore an area in the middle of the property which lies near Weaver Lake.

One hole contained a 2.6 metre intercept with grading of 100 grams of gold per tonne. Copper and zinc were also apparent.

Exploration shows promise that there may be a Kuroko-style volcanogenic sulphide stream.

Carat acquired the Seneca property in 2004. It is located within the Coast Mountains only 90 kilometres from Vancouver and has easy accessibility to lots of hydroelectric power and water.

The newest diamond drill targets lie within a large area of altered and sulphide mineralised volcanic rock intrusions.
