Midlands Minerals declares 'significant' anomalies

Friday, 20th October 2006 (2392 views)

Following exploration at Kwahu Praso at the Sian site Midlands Minerals have announced "significant" gold anomalies.

Over a strike length of four kilometres, two parallel anomalies were found to have values of 1680 and 75 ppb Au.

The pair of anomalies stand 400 metres apart and are situated on the north extension of Sian gold showings.

Marc Boisvert P.Eng, the vice president of exploration, stated: "This anomalous area is important because of its significant dimensions, its continuity line to line, and its location on the north extension of the Sian property with proven gold mineralization and gold deposits."

In terms of mineralization, Mr Boisvert P.Eng remarked that the Sian Esaase deposit on Sian is similar to that found at Newmont Mining's deposit at Akyem.

The sampling and analysis has led Mr Boisvert P.Eng to estimate a gold resource containing 200,000 ounces of gold at the Esaase property.

Midlands Minerals has in excess of 50 years experience of gold exploration in Africa and operates gold properties in Ghana and Tanzania.
