Keegan Resources, a junior gold exploration company based in Vancouver, has announced further significant results from its Esaase Gold project.

Situated in south-west Ghana, the Esaase project recorded one outstanding intercept where Keegan encountered 155 metres of 1.08 grams of gold per tonne, including five metres with a grading of 10.98 grams per tonne of gold.

Dan McCoy, chief executive officer at Keegan, said: "We are pleased to have developed a target zone, confirmed by soils, several trenches and audits, that is at least 1500 meters in strike length and open in both directions, which will be tested during our current drill program."

The company is continuing with its initial plan of a 6,000-metre drill program at Esaase and two holes are already completed with results to follow.

Most of Keegan's interests lie in Ghana which is in west Africa. Its Asumara project is situated near to Ghana's prolific gold belt and near the Ahafo deposit.

It is also carrying out exploratory work in Nevada.
