Tornado gets in a spin at Jack Creek

Monday, 20th November 2006 (2210 views)

Tornado Gold has just announced that it has been told to proceed with work at its Jack Creek property.

Located in Nevada's Independence Range near Elko County, the Jack Creek project has had tests done recently on its magnetic and gravity levels during the months of September and October 2006.

Both tests showed confirmed earlier exploration results that there are greenstones present in the Schoonover Formation.

Tornado will now proceed with more detailed geological exploration and mapping while plans for the drilling of two holes are confirmed by the US Forest Service.

Jack Creek is made of 300 lode mining claims situated next to Gateway Gold, Big Springs and Dorsey Creek.

Some 247 of these claims are owned in their entirety by Tornado, while a further 53 of them are optioned to Tornado by Gateway.

Independence Mining Company was the previous operator and is reported to have mined some 510,000 ounces of gold there between 1987 and 1993.

In 2003 Gateway announced its discovery of additional gold.
