Pentax, a camera maker, has announced that to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary in the photographic business, it will issue a gold-plated LX gold SLR camera.

It features mock alligator skin and a traditional camera design but with the added layer of golden chic.

There are rumoured to be 300 such cameras in existence because the firm previously made a short run of golden cameras to commemorate its ten millionth SLR sale.

The SLR camera is also first to be water-proof and dust-resistant.
