Eurasian sees chance in KyrgyzMonday, 27th November 2006 (2248 views) Eurasian Minerals, which is currently also exploring Serbia and Turkey, has announced new trench results from its Orgatash project which is situated in the Southern Tien Shan gold belt in Kyrgyz Republic. The main highlight is a 208 metre stretch with grades of 1.48 grams of gold per tonne and a vast amount of bulk tonnage has been predicted for 2007 from Orgatash. Eurasian holds a 336 square kilometre exploration licence for the Gezart region and the geology of the area is such that it is favourable for gold deposits to be hosted. Indeed it was Soviet geologists who first recognised that there is prevalent gold mineralisation in Orgatash and so they dug 11 trenches and did eight rock samples over a 2.5 sq km area. Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous country in central Asia and its Tien Shan gold belt stretches from Uzbekistan to Mongolia's Gobi desert. The same belt holds Uzbekistan's 175 million ounce Muruntau deposit which is the largest gold deposit in the world.
