Surprise gold find in Macedonia

Thursday, 30th November 2006 (2605 views)

Macedonia is the home of a brand new gold target discovered just yesterday by Sirius Exploration.

Located in the company's Kadiica project area it was a real surprise find as the project was originally deigned to search for copper.

Richard Poulden, chairman of Sirius, said: "We continue to make good progress in Macedonia and the findings from our recent visit to our Kadiica Copper claim look very encouraging with strong indications that we will be able commence mining for both copper and gold within the next two to three years."

Sirius also has another gold mine within Macedonia which was previously looked after by Phelps Dodge Exploration Corporation who is Sirius's joint venture partner.

By the next term Sirius wants to develop the gold target into a small mine.

It has received rock chip sampling data from Rio Tinto who gave over the information after organising a data exchange agreement.

This data confirms that there are potential gold targets in Kadiica plus the copper originally being searched for.
