Mindoro finishes surveying at CaloThursday, 30th November 2006 (2542 views) A programme consisting of geophysical surveying at the Calo porphyry copper-gold prospect in the Philippines has been completed, Mindoro Resources has declared.Though around 80 per cent of the targeted area is under volcanic ash, erosional windows have shown the presence of both low and high sulphidation gold and copper occurrences. The Calo property forms part of Mindoro Resource's Batangas projects that is located on a gold and copper mineralised zone and after securing a contract, drilling work is expected to take place within a week, the mining company has announced. In preparation for the drill programme, a diamond drill rig is to be sent to the site. And the area targeted initially will be 3,500 metres with six holes being made, spaced around a kilometre from each other. The Batangas projects is made up of four prospects which are Calo, Pica Porphyry, El Paso and Kay Tanda. The land package accounts for an area of over 32,000 hectares and the Mindoro Resources currently owns a 51 per cent interest in the property.
