Lucky Joe has further mineralisationThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 15th December 2006 (3105 views) Copper Ridge Explorations has intersected further gold mineralisation at their Lucky Joe project in the Yukon. The exploration work had faced some difficulties and work started late due to difficult drilling conditions, equipment break downs and the onset of winter weather. Nonetheless Copper Ridge has successfully drilled an area with gold values of 3.0 grams per tonne of gold over a 2.4 metre stretch. Gerald Carlson, president of the company, said: "We are very pleased by these results. In particular, the gold results are the highest yet returned from the Lucky Joe property. "To get such encouraging results from the only hole successfully completed on the Ryan Trend confirms that this structure has the potential to host a significant body of economic copper-gold mineralisation." Cooper Ridge now wants to begin a drilling programme as early as conditions permit in 2007 to allow for further definition of the gold mineralisation. Lucky Joe was previously explored in the 1970s but only two per cent of it was drilled. Copper is also present at the project.
