Drilling results from Santa Cecilia are "encouraging"The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Monday, 18th December 2006 (2983 views) Drilling results from Angus & Ross's Santa Cecilia prospect in Brazil have been described as "encouraging".The highlight from the drilling programme proved to be the 37.2 grams of gold per tonne intersected from the Rato drill hole, over a distance of 1.9 metres. Gold was detected at three separate zones at Santa Cecilia, the most significant being Rato, and the mining company has predicted that gold production at the Brazilian property will get underway by the last quarter of next year. Beginning production at Santa Cecilia rests on a positive result to a pre-feasibility study at the Santa Elena that found an indicated gold resource. Angus & Ross estimates that there is a target resource of some 500,000 tonnes of gold ore at the property and according to samples already taken from the site; this represents 67,000 ounces of gold. Despite having gold interests in Brazil and Australia, it is the Black Angel zinc and lead property in Western Greenland that Angus & Ross focuses its attentions on.
