Drilling underway at Delta's Bake property

Wednesday, 20th December 2006 (2221 views)

"Comprehensive" drilling work has begun at East Delta Resources' 70 per cent owned gold property at Bake in the Guizhou Province of China.

The drill programme will focus on assessment of the metallurgical grades at specific zones identified by the mining company as well as determining the gold resource at the property.

Covering an area of around 85 kilometres, the property is located on the Hunan-Guizhou gold belt which East Delta Resources says is "well established" in terms of being a "prolific" gold producing area.

Diamond drilling will take place over a distance of 1,500 metres and will incorporate six holes. The work has been undertaken by 407 Henan Geological Brigade.

East Delta Resources has set itself a range of targets at Bake. These include finding out the mineralised zones and prioritising them, creating resource estimates to both US and Canadian standards and increasing gold resources.

The company's operations are based in south-east Asia, predominantly in China and the Bake property is East Delta's "main anchor property in China and is vast enough to afford many simultaneous projects within its territory", according to its website.
