Columbia Goldfields announces El Sato results

Thursday, 21st December 2006 (2370 views)

Sampling results from Columbia Goldfields' new discovery at El Sato, situated at the Caramanta project, have been released.

The El Salto discovery is north of the Marmato Zona and the results represent the first detailed sampling of the area to date.

Highlights of the sampling programme included 2.06 grams per tonne of gold over a distance of nearly 38 metres and 1.06 grams of gold per tonne over 64.02 metres. Gold mineralisation at the El Salto discovery zone has been found to envelop an expanse of around three kilometres.

Randy Martin, president of Colombia Goldfields, said: "The discovery of a new zone of gold mineralisation at El Salto supports our theory that Marmato - Caramanta will develop into a gold district supporting numerous independent projects."

"Drilling at both Marmato and Caramanta is scheduled to begin early in the first quarter of 2007," he continued.

Columbia Goldfields made several acquisitions in the Marmato Mountain gold district back in October in a bid to consolidate the location.
