The recent completion of surface drilling at the Queenstake Resources' Starvation Canyon project situated in Nevada has again defined gold mineralisation, the company reports.

A highlight of the programme was the discovery of a grade of 11 grams of gold per tonne over 13.7 metres. This finding was located outside of the estimate boundary identified back in 2005. As a result, the gold resource is predicted to increase in this specific region.

Current definitions of the gold resources available to the company at this site are enclosed in two separate zones which are open in a few directions as well as stretching over a distance of 518 metres.

As part of the exploration project at Starvation Canyon, Queenstake decided to create six high angle reverse circulation drill holes in a targeting of the mineralised area.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Queenstake Resources believes its main asset to be the Jerritt Canyon gold property, also in Nevada. This mine has produced in excess of 7.5 million ounces of gold since 1981.
