Issues facing the jewellery industry will be aired and discussed at the 5th annual Dubai City of Gold Conference between April 22nd and 23rd it has been announced.

The conference, which is the brainchild of both the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, will be held at the Park Hyatt in Dubai.

Focusing on the pros and cons of the industry, the aim is to gather together influential members of the jewellery community and specific sectors of the jewellery sector will be touched upon in four sessions.

Tawhid Abdullah, managing director of Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, said: "This year's conference is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and important meetings in the jewellery industry.

"It will bring together an outstanding and diverse group of industrialists, bankers and experts in the forefront of gold, diamond and precious stones trade."

Last year's conference, according to Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, sought to align the jewellery industry and the company wished to "weave innovation and education along with an overview of trade finance and local and regional industry analysis".
