Normabec prepares for Pitt drill

Thursday, 25th January 2007 (2410 views)

Normabec Mining Resources has put in place two drills in preparation for its forthcoming exploration programme at the Pitt Gold property.

The property is situated on the Porcupine-Destor Break in Abitibi and the mining company has set aside a total of $1 million (£507,000) for the work.

A major target of the upcoming drill programme will be the area worked upon last March which intersected 82.88 grams per tonne over 4.58 metres. Drilling at this discovery hole has already got underway as Normabec hopes to extend the mineralisation.

In total, 14 holes will be drilled during the exploration work which will encompass some 9,500 metres and should be completed by March if all goes to plan.

Partners at the property, Soquem, allow Normabec the option to earn a 60 per cent interest in the concession should 15,000 metres of drilling take place before June 30th.

After receiving results that the company described as "spectacular" in March 2006, a permanent bridge was constructed over the Lanaudiere River.
