Commissioning has now begun at Gold Hawk Resources' wholly owned Coricancha mine in Peru, the company has announced.

In addition, Gold Hawk is also "pleased" to declare that commissioning has started for the processing facility and to date, "work is progressing in many areas in the processing facility".

To complement the commissioning, the company has said that it is now actively recruiting and wishes to enhance the present workforce of 260 with over 300 employees by April this year.

Gold Hawk plans to have the mine and mill at the Coricancha mine reaching its full production capacity which equates to 600 tonnes per day.

While the build up of bacteria for the BIOX circuit has now been put in place to facilitate gold recovery at the site, the mining company has already produced its first lead and zinc concentrates.

Gold Hawk has also expressed its interest in expanding production at the Coricancha mine from its present capacity of 600 tonnes per day and the feasibility of raising this to 900 tonnes per day is on the firm's agenda.
