Alturas issues Peruvian resultsFriday, 23rd February 2007 (2331 views) Alturas Minerals Corporation has announced some new results from its ongoing work at the Utupara copper and gold project in the south of Peru.The Titiminias area in particular showed some good grades including one highlight which was 27.7 grams of gold per tonne over a length of 1.3 metres plus it also contained 66.6 grams of copper per tonne in the same strike length. Miguel Cardozo, the chief executive officer and president, said: "We are delighted to report these very encouraging gold, silver and copper results from surface sampling at our 100 per cent owned Utupara project, which is the third project in Alturas' portfolio to receive our intensive exploration efforts." He added that work to date indicates an alteration system with measurements of four kilometres by four kilometres and there are strong high-grade gold systems as well as silver, zinc, lead and copper values. Alturas is also continuing work at mines in the Cachorro area where some areas have shown grades of 0.07 grams of gold per tonne and a 64 metre long section had 0.56 grams of gold per tonne.
