Columbus expands Nevada mineralisationFriday, 23rd February 2007 (2296 views) Columbus Gold Corporation has announced that it has expanded the dimensions of its gold deposit at Golden Mile which is in Nevada.Occurring in the Central Zone, the 1,976 metre reverse-circulation drilling programme at the project was wound up towards the end of 2006. This project was designed to test for a possible extension of the gold mineralisation found in the phase one programme of drilling in the same area. It was successful with a thick and continuous layer of low-grade material being encountered by the 15 holes made along the strike length. The best hole was 57.9 metres with a grade of 0.65 grams of gold per tonne. Another highlight had a length of 80.8 metres with a grade of 1.39 grams of gold per tonne. So although these are low grades, they present a very large volume target and the area is likely to connect with the West Zone, another area of gold mineralisation. The firm's Golden Mile property contains 24 claims over an area of 54 hectares which all run along the Walker Lane gold trend in the south-west of Nevada.
