Oro drills Trinidad in MexicoThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 27th February 2007 (3402 views) Oro Gold Resources may begin diamond core drilling at its project in Mexico.Located along the Rosario Gold Belt, the property is called Trinidad and is widely considered to be the firm's top priority project in the country. Some 900 metres of core drilling in eight holes will form the first phase of work at the site while certain targets have already been pinpointed for testing. These include a gold-bearing structural trend along the strike of the open pit mine. Eric Grill, the vice president of exploration at Oro Gold, said: "Trinidad is the most important property in our Rosario Gold Belt portfolio. "This drill programme marks the start of our evaluation of the resource potential of the under-developed Trinidad mine district." The exploration area which Oro Gold has decided upon has already been tested once before, by Eldorado and Ascaro, but this was limited to surface trenching and outcrop sampling along with four rotary drill holes. The Rosario gold belt is located 490 kilometres south-east of the port city of Mazatlan in Brazil and most of the site is drill ready.
