New gold project introduced to world

Wednesday, 28th February 2007 (2497 views)

Tonogold Resources has just introduced its newest gold project to the world in the shape of the Red Gold Project.

Located in Nye County in Nevada, the project consists of three claims with the firm currently designing three distinct exploration plans for each of these claims.

Sampling has revealed some preliminary data including low-grade mineralisation across a 70-foot zone and all the samples taken so far contain gold. The average grade of these samples is 1.4 grams of gold per tonne although some samples reach highs of 2.5 grams of gold per tonne.

Kevin Robinson, an executive geologist with Tonogold, said: "The North Tonopah area was the site of the last operating gold mine in Tonopah.

"Mineralised structures indicate potential gold sources at depth yet the area remains largely untested."

He added that new exploration ideas and deposit models would help the company to explore an area which has been overlooked for many years.

Tonogold Resources is based in California's La Jolla area and the firm also has properties in Alaska and Nevada.
