Diamond drilling work that has recently been embarked upon at Freewest Resources Canada has lead to some "pleasing" results, the company has announced.

The property in question was the Clarence Stream mine and the 11,296 hectare site returned a gold grade of 12.51 grams per tonne over three metres as well as 11.97 grams per tonne over two metres.

Freewest Resources Canada utilised 15 drill holes during the campaign that targeted a stretch of the strike length that was 225 metres long.

This section of the strike was found in the east zone of the property and has been subject to limited shallow drilling by the mining company in the past.

At this spot, an inferred mineral resource grading 6.36 grams per tonne in 75,810 tonnes has been found which equates to 15,509 ounces of gold.

The 100 per cent owned Clarence Stream property will see another round of diamond drilling work after a two-week break and the aim of the programme is to provide an update of the Scott Wilson produced mineral resource calculation of 2005.
