Alexis 'happy' with Lac Herbin results

Thursday, 22nd March 2007 (2147 views)

Alexis Minerals has been buoyed by the "very encouraging" results it has received from mining operations at the Lac Herbin gold deposit.

David Rigg, president and CEO of Alexis Minerals, has explained that the possibility exists for future work that will further expand the mineralisation at the property as well as increasing resources.

Mineralisation of ore grade gold was found deeper than previous efforts - to the 500 metre level - and a highlight of the exploration work included the intersection of 7.2 metres at a gold grade of 15.25 grams per tonne.

Mr Rigg commented on the results thus: "Drilling has verified the excellent depth continuation to gold mineralisation at the Lac Herbin deposit and significantly expands the resource potential."

Furthermore, according to Mr Rigg, the Lac Herbin gold deposit has the potential to become one of the most 'significant' sites to be found within the Val d'Or gold mining district, an area that he says already plays host to some 15 million ounces of gold.
