3,000m drill begins in Mexico

Thursday, 29th March 2007 (2286 views)

West Timmins Mining together with its business partner Konigsberg Corporation has announced the beginning of a 3,000 metre diamond drill programme in Mexico.

The Yoquivo gold and silver project is located in Chihuahua State and covers an area which is only 35 kilometres away from another prolific gold mining area called the Ocampo gold and silver mine, owned by Gammon Lake Resources.

Darin Wagner, the president of West Timmins Mining, said: "Our recent sampling has confirmed the high-grade nature of the epithermal gold-silver systems in the Yoquivo District and identified previously unrecognized sheeted vein zones which offer potential bulk tonnage targets in several areas."

He added that both styles of mineralisation will be tested by the announced drill programme.

Surface sampling has so far returned high grades. Highlights include an average grade of 4.0 grams of gold per tonne and one grab sample of 15.45 grams of gold per tonne.

Some 22 historic audits and shafts have been completed with four drills currently turning on three gold projects in the US.
