Mexico yields high gold, silver grades

Thursday, 19th April 2007 (2291 views)

Gold Resource Corporation, a gold and silver mining company, is continuing to discover high-grade rock chip surface sampling at its project in the Oaxaca region of Mexico.

The project is entitled Las Margaritas and up to about 40.7 ounces of gold per tonne have already been found there. Highlights from recent exploration include grades of 374 grams of silver per tonne.

William Reid, the president of Gold Resource Corporation said: "With the continued exploration at our Las Margaritas property, including the highest grade surface sample taken by us to date, we are gaining a better understanding of the geology and are generating drill targets."

He added that the firm is excited to be the first to put a drill hole in this historical high-grade silver mining district.

The project is also very close to another mine owned by the firm, which is called El Aguila. This is eight kilometres away and high-grade gold and silver is also found in this area.

More sampling and exploration will be conducted at both projects.
