Golden Arrow Resources Corporation has begun a ten to 12 hole diamond drill programme at its site in Argentina.

The Poncha gold and copper project is located in the San Juan province and the work is expected to cover 3,000 metres. Two diamond drill rigs have been mobilised especially and the company have entered into agreements with Teck Cominco to earn 100 per cent interest in the site.

No drilling has yet taken place on the southern part of the project where there are many high grade gold veins with surface grab samples grading up to 42.49 grams of gold per tonne.

Surface geochemical sampling has discovered that there are corridors measuring 250 metre wide and 1 kilometre long which contain gold mineralisation.

Samples taken by Teck Cominco have identified grades of 4.7 grams of gold per tonne in an epithermal setting two kilometres to the south of the site and the current drill programme will focus on this area.
