"High-grade gold" encountered by GoldexThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 27th April 2007 (3042 views) Continuing exploration work carried out at Goldex Resources' Plan de Guineo sector of the El Plato project in Guatemala has returned "high-grade gold float samples".Should the float samples findings be a fair reflection of the kind of gold, silver, copper and zinc mineralisation to be found elsewhere at the prospect, then the mining company is bracing itself to "add significant value" at the site. The El Plato project's recent drilling campaign saw two more holes drilled and Goldex Resources is currently in the process of verifying them and results will be released in the next few weeks. It was the Cerrito West sector of the project on which Goldex Resources focussed its attentions on with its last two drill holes and gold mineralisation has previously been discovered here by the Guatemalan government as well as the United Nations. According to Goldex Resources: "Gold mineralization at Cerrito West is hosted by north to northeast-dipping low-angle planar silicified shear structures within a regional granitic batholith."
