Carpathian Gold announces initial gold estimateWednesday, 30th May 2007 (2367 views) Mineral exploration company Carpathian Gold has announced its initial gold estimate for its Rovina Exploration in central Romania.Independent consultants AMEC carried out the estimates at the Colnic Au-Cu porphyry deposit and the Rovina Cu-Au porphyry deposit. Indications show that after ten months of drilling there is an estimated 1.8 million ounces of gold-copper at the Colnic deposit. According to Carpathian Gold, drilling on both of the porphyry deposits is ongoing with neither porphyry having yet been fully marked out in size. "We are exceptionally pleased with this initial mineral resource estimate, given that it represents a starting point of the resource potential for each deposit that was achieved within only ten months of commencement from drilling in 2006," commented Dino Titaro president of Carpathian Gold. Cycle tests at Rovina yielded Gold flotation recovery of 65 per cent, however indications were that additional gold could be recovered using acceptable reagent consumptions, "by leaching of flotation cleaner tails" thereby enhancing gold recovery to 79 per cent.
