Leaching begins at El Chanate

Friday, 22nd June 2007 (2101 views)

Capital Gold has announced that leaching has begun at its El Chanate gold prospect in Sonora, Mexico.

The average gold grade contained in the stacked ore at El Chanate is approximately 0.89 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold.

Furthermore, Capital Gold now expects production to begin over the next 30 to 45 days.

Timing of production is controlled by the solution percolation rate through the pad and the rate of gold dissolution, the company reports.

"It marks a formidable milestone in the continuing growth of Capital Gold. The application of cyanide solution to the leach pad has commenced," commented John Brownlie, chief operating officer of Capital Gold.

He added that since mid-March, Capital Gold has been crushing and stacking ore to over 350,000 metric tonnes.

Capital Gold is a gold exploration and development company and owns the El Chanate gold property in Sonora, Mexico.
