High-grade gold drilling underway at Golden Promise

Monday, 25th June 2007 (2015 views)

Drilling has commenced at Crosshair Exploration and Mining Corporation's Golden Promise project, it has been announced.

According to Crosshair, a 3,750-metre summer drilling programme has begun on the Jaclyn Zone in the Golden Promise prospect.

The Jaclyn Zone is a gold mineralised composite vein system defined over a strike length of 750 metres to a depth of 225 metres.

Drilling at Jaclyn revealed a number of high-grade gold intercepts, including 14.01 grammes per tonne of gold (g/t) over 0.35 metres.

"A trenching programme is also planned to further expose a mineralised gabbro unit discovered in the southeastern portion of the property where prospectors collected grab samples assaying up to ten g/t of gold from an area measuring 50 metres by 50 metres," Crosshair noted in a statement.

According to Crosshair, Golden Promise offers "excellent" gold deposit potential in an under-explored gold belt.

Crosshair also notes that the region bares similarities to the Bendigo-Ballarat gold district in Victoria, Australia which has a past production of more than 22 million ounces of gold.
