Cline mines deep at Cline Lake

Wednesday, 18th July 2007 (2034 views)

Gold exploration corporation Cline Mining has announced drill and assay results from its Cline Lake gold property in Ontario, Canada.

Carried out by Sherwood Drilling of Kirkland Lake, drill results show 332,670 tonnes at a recovered grade of 0.215 ounces per tonne (opt) of gold, with production coming from mine workings between surface and 500 vertical feet.

Previously, the Cline Lake gold property has not been drilled to depth and historical exploration was limited to shallow-drilling.

"The Edwards/Cline Shear dipping 60 degrees north, runs west to east across the Cline Lake property and appears to be the controlling feature that localises quartz-sulphide-gold mineralisation within the porphyrys and volcanics. Visible free gold is seen frequently in the mineralised zones," Cline notes.

Individual holes results show 1.321 opt of gold over 2.6 feet in hole CL 07-3, 1.690 opt of gold over one foot in hole CL 07-9 and 0.964 opt of gold over one foot, 0.180 opt of gold over 3.9 feet and 0.216 opt of gold over 9.5 feet in hole CL 07-6.
