Mobile phone company Nokia has released a new gold edition of its Sirocco phone.

Already available as a stainless steel model, the company has also created an 18-carat gold Sirocco Gold version.

The precious yellow metal version costs £450 on a £35 monthly contract or £800 SIM-free, according to Mobile Choice UK.

Nokia notes that the 18-carat gold plated phone has white gold finishes and detailed engravings with a scratch-resistant sapphire-coated glass display.

The phone also comes with gold accessories including a gold Bluetooth wireless headset, a gold desk-stand as well as a leather carrying pouch.

Recently, Samsung revealed that it is to release an 18-carat gold-plated phone in time for the China Olympics in 2008.

Meanwhile, Jobra has launched its JX10 Cara Bluetooth headset which is wrapped in 24-carat gold.

"The gold plated headsets come along with a detachable earhook. This earhook makes the headset fit comfortably on the ear of the user," Tech Gadgets notes.
