Friday, 20th July 2007 (2800 views) Irish gold mining corporation Galantas Gold has announced the completion of commissioning work for its gold processing plant.The plant is located at the company's gold mine near Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and comprises of crushing, grinding and flotation circuits with a design capacity to produce sulphide concentrate containing up to 30,000 ounces of gold per year. According to Galantas, the plant is capable of operating at design capacity of six tonnes per hour with sulphide recovery estimated at 82.03 per cent and an improved concentrate quality of 115.8 grammes per tonne (g/t)of gold. "This compares with a grade of 144 g/t gold produced in laboratory flotation test-work. Improvements are expected to continue with increased operator experience and plant amendments," Galantas noted in a statement. In addition to Galantas' gold mining operations, the company also owns jewellery design, manufacturing and marketing business Galantas Irish Gold that uses gold produced at the Omagh Mine.
