Australian gold company Art Gilding is holding another gold leaf gilding demonstration in Darling Harbour, Sydney this month.

Info Link reports that the demonstration is free and will take place on Friday July 20th when visitors will be able to observe the application of gold leaf onto a moulding frame and matt board by German master gilder Karl Eggert.

This event directly precedes Art Gilding's Golden Weekend - a gilding workshop that will take place on the Saturday and Sunday at the Art Gilding Academy's studio in Sydney.

"The Golden Weekend gilding workshop is ideal for small business owners - especially framers - keen to add gilding skills and more profits to their business," the company claims.

Classes, workshops and courses are available through the Art Gilding Academy where students can learn to become professional gilders.

In May this year, demonstrations were held over the course of an evening and attendees could enjoy complimentary food gilded with 24-carat gold leaf and wine decorated with floating gold leaves.
