Sino reveals discovery of 9,840 oz goldTuesday, 24th July 2007 (2027 views) Releasing its quarterly report, Sino Gold reveals that it has recovered 9,840 ounces of gold during its second quarter at its Jinfeng gold mine in southern China.In the month of June Sino mined 5,800 ounces with the company intending to produce a total of 70,000-75,000 ounces of gold in 2007. Meanwhile, the ore reserve at Jinfeng increased by 12 per cent to 17.6 million tonnes at 5.7 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold, containing 3.2 million ounces. "This new ore reserve estimate represents an increase of 341,000 contained ounces over the previous estimate, due to the addition of 1.2 million tonnes of ore and the average grade increasing to 5.7g/t gold from 5.4g/t gold," Sino revealed. Drilling extended strong mineralisation in the deep high-grade zone at 40 metres to the east with assays received to date returning 20 metres at 7.4g/t gold. Sino also noted that excellent infill, geotechnical and metallurgical drilling results were achieved, including 54.8 metres at 7.4 g/t gold and 45.2 metres at 7.7g/t gold.
