Friday, 27th July 2007 (5300 views) Gold exploration company Yankee Hat Minerals has announced additional results of winter 2007 drilling on its Fran gold project.According to Yankee, gold mineralization was encountered at its last four drill holes in the North contact zone of the gold project. Furthermore, it claims that drilling encountered gold mineralization extending for the length of the strike of the North contact zone - proving that the region is continuously mineralized over a strike length of approximately 1,200 metres. "The results are encouraging and provide more information to build upon and guide future exploration. Based on the success of the winter program, a follow up summer exploration program is planned and is in the process of being executed," Yankee revealed. Gold mineralisation was encountered at drill hole FR-07-76 - which intersected 2.27 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold over 10.8 metres, including higher grade cores of 15.47 g/t of gold over 0.6 metres and 5.64 g/t of gold over 3.9 metres. Yankee is currently exploring two gold projects in British Columbia: the Fran property and the Union Mine property.
