More Red Lake gold for MerrexFriday, 17th August 2007 (1930 views) Merrex Gold Exploration has recovered further encouraging grab samples from its Canadian gold mining project in Red Lake, Ontario.Samples of quartz vein structures have yielded results of up to 22 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold, 24 g/t and 30 g/t of gold. Merrex has accordingly initiated an exploration programme in several areas of interest incorporating line cutting, prospecting, geological mapping, stripping old trenches and sampling. "Merrex's Birch-Uchi Gold Project is still at an early stage of exploration compared to our more advanced Siribaya Gold discovery in Mali. However, the quartz vein grab samples of up to 22 g/t, 24 g/t and 30 g/t [of gold] suggest that Birch-Uchi has real potential," commented Greg Isenor, Merrex president. In total, seven properties make up the Birch-Uchi Gold project, they are Shabumeni, East Swain, Shabumeni River, Skinner, Women River, Premier Lake and Confederation Lake. Merrex' exploration is focussed on the Shabumeni region.
