Wednesday, 22nd August 2007 (2685 views) Sierra Minerals has announced that it has intersected gold at its Cerro Colorado mine.During its continuing exploration of the Cerro Colorado Gold Mine in Sonora, Mexico, Sierra has so far completed 115 drill holes. Results from the drill programme at the gold region include 68 metres at 0.82 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold intersected at drill hole GM-15 while drill hole GM-59 intersected 26 metres at 1.18 g/t of gold. "As we have been increasing production at Cerro Colorado, we have also been drilling exploration holes to complete a NI 43-101 resource calculation. We expect to cut off drilling for this programme by quarter one 2008 for delivery of the calculation by quarter two," commented Martin Walter, chief executive officer. In 2006, the mine produced roughly 14,000 ounces of gold at a top grade of 0.76 g/t of gold and production increased in the first six months of 2007.
