A technology firm from the US state of Massachusetts has announced the launch of a pendant which contains the entire text of the Bible.

The Golden Bible is hung around the neck using a 14-carat gold chain, with the pendant itself mounted on a 14-carat gold frame, according to the firm's website. It has a retail value of $899 (£447).

"To the best of our knowledge, the Golden Bible Entire Bible Pendant is the only product of its kind," said David R Day, co-owner of Advanced Micrographics LLC.

The pendant itself is made from crystal and features the entire texts of the Old and New Testaments micro-engraved around a cross. More than four million letters and 788,000 words are used for the pendant.

Advanced Micrographics was founded in 2005 and the pendant is believed to be the smallest printing of the complete Bible to date in the world.
