Bralorne Gold Mines approve BC development programmeThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 20th September 2007 (2727 views) A CA$2.5 million (£1.23 million) development programme has been approved at the King-Bralorne Gap in British Coumbia, Canada by Bralorne Gold Mines. The underground portion of a 2006 drilling programme discovered the BK Zone, a previously unknown gold appearance within the King-Bralorne Gap that is thought to contain sections of high-grade mineralisation. Phase two drilling was completed at the under-explored site between January and September 2007, focusing on the King Vein area where the new discovery was made. Beacon Hill Consultants provided a preliminary assessment of the BK Zone, recommending that areas in the mine above 800 level should be identified and reassessed and that work should commence on a 125m cross-cut to the zone. Located 150 air miles from Vancouver, the Bralorne Gold Mine produced 4.15 million ounces of gold between 1932 and 1971. The company is planning to re-develop its Pioneer, Bralorne and King gold mines, which historically represent the largest Canadian Cordillera gold producers.
