Golden Band has announced its submission of a proposal to Saskatchewan Environment to develop four gold mines on the Bingo, Komis, EP and Tower East gold deposits.

The proposal also requests the treating of the ores at the company's Jolu gold mill, it was announced.

President and chief executive officer of Golden Band Rodney Orr said that the move demonstrated its commitment to reviving gold production in the area.

"With this important step in the regulatory process underway, Golden Band is clearly moving forward on its path to production and is further demonstrating its commitment to the re-starting of gold production in the La Ronge Gold Belt," he said.

In the proposal, Golden Band anticipates the life of the project to be a decade, processing up to 2.2 million tonnes of ore.

As part of the company's recently announced expanded scoping study for mine development, the centre of the Jolu Central Mill Gold Project is to be Golden Band's 100 per cent-owned Jolu mill, the capacity of which is to be increased from 400 tonnes per day to a minimum of 700 tonnes per day.

Since 1994 Golden Band has assembled more than 70,000 hectares of land.
