Swedish mine confirms gold-bearing veins

Tuesday, 25th September 2007 (2017 views)

Further diamond drilling results from Gold-Ore Resources has confirmed the existence of gold-bearing veins at the Bjorkdale gold mine in Sweden.

The results confirm that a corridor containing gold-bearing veins at the mine is 800m wide.

Drilling and open pit mining at the site have revealed the corridor to be at least 1,200m long.

The most recent drilling results come from a rig positioned in the mine's central tunnel, around 500m north of the previous drill site.

Drilling operations have been ongoing at the Bjorkdale gold mine site for the past 15 months and have completed 1,700m of tunnels.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Gold-Ore Resources is a junior gold mining and exploration company.

The Bjorkdale gold mine is the company's flagship property and is currently producing gold at a rate of 22,000 ounces per year.

Gold-Ore Resources hopes to eventually increase the rate of production at the Swedish mining site to 75,000 ounces per year.
