Yukon-Nevada announces results at Ketza River property

Wednesday, 26th September 2007 (2035 views)

Yukon-Nevada Gold has announced results from its drilling projects in the Ketza River Mine Manto Gold Zone in the Yukon Territory.

The North American company found strong oxide mineralisation over a vertical distance of 65 metres in the Hoodoo zone of the property, which lies on a major north-west-striking fault near Ross River.

"This zone is an exciting new discovery at the Ketza project," said Graham Dickson, the president of Yukon-Nevada.

"It is the result of a reinvigorated exploration program," he added.

Assays for the drilling project are pending.

Once the pre-feasibility studies have been completed, the company hopes that a positive mill decision will have an operational mill and mine on the site, with a production capacity of 140,000 ounces of gold per year.

Yukon-Nevada, the product of a merger between YGC resources and Queenstake Resourses earlier this year, is currently also exploring properties in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory in Canada as well as in Arizona and Nevada.
